Here is the latest setup of Urban VPN for windows is available and easy download links are available for download. Basically, it is a free VPN service that does not require you to create an account. However, it does keep connection logs and uses peer-to-peer technology.

The website lists no-cost apps for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and a browser extension. The desktop apps are barebones - they display a list of alphabetically sorted locations, and you just click to connect. On mobile platforms, it's even simpler.

Urban VPN is optimized for a high-speed connection and provides unlimited bandwidth. It also offers a wide variety of locations and is easy to use on Windows or Mac. To connect, users simply click on an alphabetically sorted list of locations and select the one they want to connect to.

Once connected, users can view their original and current IP address, as well as their current upload and download speeds and the amount of data they've uploaded or downloaded.

In addition to offering a wide selection of servers, Urban VPN also includes an integrated ad blocker to keep the Internet free of annoying and malicious advertisements. It also protects against unauthorized cryptocurrency mining by using an advanced anti-mining algorithm.

However, the company's privacy policy is somewhat disturbing. It states that the service collects 'online identifiers and device screenshots' to help with app performance. To us, that's blatantly logging, which completely goes against the whole idea of a VPN.

Urban VPN offers a free tier, a 7 day free trial and a yearly subscription package. The pricing is comparable to premium services like ExpressVPN, NordVPN, and CyberGhost. The latter two offer no-log policies, audits by reputable firms and more features for the same price.

The desktop application offers a minimalistic user interface with a list of locations arranged alphabetically on the right side of the screen and a single button to connect or disconnect. It is easy to use but lacks a number of features that would make it more competitive with other providers.

The app also lags security-wise, providing no information on the encryption technologies it uses. Its peer-to-peer system and reliance on data from other users in its network is a major concern. The company claims to use “high grade” encryption but it isn’t clear what this means. Moreover, it doesn’t disclose how many users’ data it collects and routes through the network.

Urban VPN does not mention the encryption protocols it uses, which is a big no-no as one of the main reasons for users to sign up for a VPN service is to secure data. Urban VPN makes no attempt to provide this information either on its website or in the applications, which is extremely frustrating as it can easily lead to a lack of confidence in users.

On the other hand, it does offer a decent number of servers in various countries, although it would be nice to see a bit more variation in terms of which locations are offered. The Windows and Mac software is well-organized and intuitive to use, with a list of available locations displayed on the right side of the screen and a Favorites system for connecting to your preferred places.

As a bonus, the software supports torrent networks, although this is not guaranteed to work in every location. However, the fact that its headquarters are in the US (a founding member of the Five Eyes) is alarming given its stern data-retention laws.

Urban VPN uses a P2P network to connect users to the Internet, enabling them to bypass geographical restrictions and enjoy unlimited bandwidth. It offers more than 82 VPN locations around the world. However, its mobile apps and desktop client don’t offer as many choices as competing options.

The desktop client features a clean interface and a concise server list but lacks advanced functionality. The mobile app’s UI is similar to its desktop counterpart, featuring an easy-to-use location list and a Favorites system.

Both the iOS and Android versions of Urban VPN come with a seven-day free trial. However, you’ll need to provide your payment information to get started. You can also purchase a premium subscription from the company directly for an annual fee.

Unfortunately, Urban VPN doesn’t have a no-logs policy and does not offer IP/DNS leak protection. In addition, it is based in the US, which is part of the 5-Eyes Alliance and could potentially share data with government agencies.
